About Paul McPherson
From farm kid to Purdue grad to manufacturing leader — fighting for Indiana's working families

Meet Paul
I am a proud father of two teenagers and husband of an elementary teacher. I grew up in a middle-class family on a 210-acre cattle and crop farm in rural Ohio where I learned the value of hard work and getting my hands dirty in the shops to keep the farm equipment running. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Technology and Industrial Arts Management from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, and a Master of Science in Technology from Purdue University, West Lafayette.
I have worked both in manufacturing and higher education, most recently becoming the Director of a 32,000 sq ft manufacturing space at Purdue University. Throughout my time in manufacturing and higher education, I have learned how to relate to, and communicate with, individuals from many walks of life as well as across many generations, from Baby Boomers to Gen Z. Additionally, my background in engineering has taught me to be an out-of-the-box problem solver, presenting unique solutions for complex situations.
While I have always been interested in politics and stay up to date on the social and economic issues facing our country, I find now is the time to rise up to the call to serve our country and make a difference — in hopes of proposing new innovative ideas on how to tackle the current issues to continue progressing our nation forward to ensure the rights, liberties, and freedoms for all individuals in the United States are secure for the foreseeable future.
Overall, I see myself as a healthy mix between a Progressive and Moderate Democrat that will be able to work across party lines to develop common sense and practical solutions to move our country forward. I know times are tough for many individuals, whether it is the cost of healthcare, groceries, housing expenses, or even feeling that your civil rights are under threat — and I assure you I too experience these realities. Therefore, I promise you that I will strive every day to work with farmers, manufacturers, healthcare providers, educators, and many others, regardless of political affiliation, to develop and present legislation that helps tackle these issues head on, in hopes of improving the livelihood of all Americans.
If you ask friends, former students, and colleagues, they will confirm that I am a man of grounded principles, morals, and ethics, have the tenacity to get a job done right, and have the greater good of others at the core of everything I do. If you are looking for a candidate that is not a lifetime politician, can relate to people from many walks of life, will not just vote strictly along party lines, and will work across the aisle to find middle ground — I ask for your vote on May 5th and again in November.
